At Finca Vega de Aguín we have a 10 ha green kiwi farm in full production. In 2021 and 2022 the surface area is being extended to 20 ha.
The location of our farm, in the centre-east of Asturias, the abundance of water from the Borines and Piloña rivers, and its southerly orientation, give our kiwifruit a unique flavour.
We harvest with a minimum sugar content of 7.5/8% to optimise the flavour of the fruit.
We do not use herbicides or hormones. All fertilisers used are liquid or applied to the leaves and all treatments are biodegradable.
From November to June, we supply the market with high quality kiwifruit in terms of its selection, presentation and flavour, with zero waste.
We hold the Global Gap certificate (extended to GRASP in 2021), Veriseg, and the Alimentos del Paraíso seal (Asturias Guarantee of Quality and Origin). In 2021, the business will also be certified under IFS Food.
Our commitment to the environment and the socio-economic fabric of Asturias begins with our 100% natural pollination and harvesting process, which is completely sustainable. We work with state-of-the-art products and are at the forefront of process automation, working closely with local suppliers and distributors to achieve our zero waste goal.
